Mr. Fitzgerald is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA ®) with more than 25 years of experience advising clients of all sizes. Scott purchased his first stock (CBS) in 1982 at the young age of 15 with the help of his mom. He always found money and finance interesting from a very young age. He attended Villanova University as a History and Economics major, and found himself constantly looking for the next best investment and/or company that would provide a return on investment. Upon graduation in 1991, Scott began work at Chase Manhattan Bank where he helped clients invest and care for their money. He soon realized the true potential that investments and other financial instruments could afford his clients and in 1996 he decided to leave the bank and pursue a career as an independent advisor.
After learning more about people’s desire for financial freedom and independence, Scott wanted to do more for his clients. In 2002 he joined a group of like-minded professionals and became a founding partner of Vanderbilt Securities LLC where he expanded his portfolio of services to include tax, accounting, insurance and employee benefits. Having recently married and being blessed with three young girls, Scott understood even more, the value financial planning could bring an individual and their families. He worked harder than ever to get to know his clients, their priorities, short and long term goals, dreams and aspirations and they appreciated his expertise.
Scott started Steel Ridge Advisors in February of 2016. As an independent financial firm, partnering with a renowned Broker/Dealer and clearing firm, Scott now had access to state of the art technology, research and back office assistance and his team could focus their time and energy on delivering superior servicing of clients’ individual, family and business needs.
